Job Summary: Oversight of on-site construction management acting as Owner's Representative of the assigned Solar and/or Energy Storage Project Site. Construction management includes oversight of site Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contractor(s) quality, safety, schedule, and general progress of the construction project to ensure compliance with Project requirements. General project management and construction support when projects are not under construction. Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the highest level of environmental health and safety on assigned projects and tasks.
  • Develop a culture of cooperation, teamwork, and cost control consistent with RRNA's business strategies.
  • Maintain timely communication and reporting with the RRNA Project Manager on all project activities.
  • Perform daily on-site inspections for quality of workmanship, quality of materials, conformity with plans & specifications, code compliance, on-site safety, project schedule vs progress, and general progress of the construction project.
  • Maintain observation reports/logs including but not limited to work description and work methods of EPC Contractor(s) on site, weather conditions, observations, photos, etc.
  • When issues are observed, provide a non-conformance report to the EPC Contractor for mitigation/remediation recommendations.
  • Work with the Project Manager to communicate all remediation recommendations by the EPC Contractor with the Project Team for acceptance or rejection.
  • Review all test reports and ensure they are in compliance with the project specifications. E.g. soils, compaction, concrete, welds, and other required tests. Ensure that the EPC Contractor is submitting appropriate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Review Request for Information's (RFI's) to ensure EPC Contractor and their design/engineer/consultants are providing thorough and efficient responses, and that RFI responses are being forwarded to/from the appropriate parties; advise RRNA Project Manager and Engineer of RFI's that may incur additional cost and/or scope change.
  • Review, comment and assist the RRNA Project Manager in managing any change orders or potential change orders for the project.
  • Support the RRNA Project Manager with reviewing the back-up details and reconciling monthly progress invoices from the EPC Contractor.
General PM and Construction Support:
  • Attend Origination site visits to provide construction input to the Project Developer, includes attendance at site visit and completion of notes/report post visit.
  • Support PV Plant, Substation, Gen Tie, and Energy Storage Request for Proposal responses, including but not limited to, reviewing project details for constructability, developing construction plans and schedules, and evaluating potential EPC partners.
  • Develop standard templates for RRNA PM and construction activities, including but not limited to, daily/weekly site supervisor report, production tracking, quality monitoring, change management, document management, etc.
  • Provide overflow support to RRNA Project Managers
Minimum Requirements and Education Experience: Eight (8) years' experience in either planning, scheduling, estimating, resource management or cost controls applicable to engineering and/or construction of power generation facilities and/or transmission or electrical substations. Four (4) of the 8 years can be satisfied with a bachelor's degree in Engineering or related science from an accredited School. A current valid US driver's license Authorized to work in the United States for any employer Working Conditions: Full time at project site Home travel every 6 weeks paid by the company.
