Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is hiring an experienced Construction Manager with expertise in the geotechnical field to oversee and manage all aspects of geotechnical construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing proposals, training staff, planning, coordinating, and supervising on-site activities, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality work within budget, and adhering to safety standards. This role requires strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, construction processes, and project management. Typical projects include residential, commercial, industrial, and public works. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desired. What you will be doing
  • Project Management:
    • Lead geotechnical construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
    • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
    • Coordinate and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
    • Prepare and review project documentation, including reports, proposals, and contracts.
  • Site Supervision:
    • Supervise on-site activities, ensuring compliance with construction plans, specifications, and geotechnical requirements.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality control.
    • Ensure proper site safety protocols are in place and followed.
  • Technical Oversight:
    • Collaborate with geotechnical engineers to interpret geotechnical reports and incorporate findings into construction practices.
    • Oversee grading operations, civil improvements, building special inspections, and other construction activities.
  • Budget and Cost Control:
    • Manage project budgets and track expenses.
    • Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and manage construction teams, ensuring efficient use of labor and resources.
    • Mentor and train technicians and inspectors and ensure a collaborative working environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction management.
