We are seeking a Construction Manager to support the Florida Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) General Engineering Consultant (GEC) Program and join our team in Costa Mesa, CA to lead and work on various projects.

How will you contribute to the team
* Plans and organizes the observation and documentation of construction projects.
* Schedules and coordinates observation of ongoing work and testing and sampling of materials.
* Assigns, leads and supervises internal staff engaged in observation and testing and in related record keeping.
* Monitors contractors' progress against schedule and prepares progress reports.
* Reviews payment requests and determines amount owing to contractor(s) based on onsite observations and contract stipulations.
* Oversees compilation of final estimate documents.
* Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
* Performs non-manual field work that involves a combination of conventional and complex features, requiring the application of sound and diversified professional knowledge in board areas of assignments, usually including the coordination of various projects.
* Most assignments are performed independently, making decisions on technical problems and methods such as material quantities and documentation methods. Receives general instructions regarding assignment objectives and expected results.
* Supervises and reviews the work of junior professionals, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.
* Interfaces with senior technical professionals, technical managers, and administrative staff and managers as necessary.
* Represents the firm in dealings with clients, contractors and regulatory agency personnel.
What you contribute to the team?
* Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field and seven years related experience including personnel supervision. Engineering design experience desirable. With Associate's degree, fifteen years of related experience. Without a degree, seventeen years related experience is required.
* P.E. desired.
* Leadership and managerial skills, analytical and organization skills, ability to supervise field representatives and field office personnel.
* General Competencies expected of all Professionals and Managers are as follows: Client Service, Commitment, Communication, Innovation & Continuous Improvement, Professionalism, Quality, and Teamwork.
* Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat and crawl down into ditches, ability to observe construction activities and distinguish colors, and ability to perceive back-up alarms and other warnings.
* Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, subject to insects, flooded terrain and equipment/traffic hazards.
* Job also requires ability to process paper and electronic documents and utilize computer.
* Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
* Job also requires ability to plan and prioritize tasks, and review contract documents, project plans and progress reports.
* If position requires driving company vehicle, incumbent must have valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy
