To help facilitate our expanding business, RMS Energy is currently seeking a Construction Manager to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. Our Construction Managers lead and manage the operational and financial aspects of field execution of large, Turn-Key, and EPC projects and is the primary liaison with the client's site project teams during construction.
Preferred Locations: Hermiston, Oregon, Porland, Oregon.
Responsibilities:
* Develops and ensures the Project Execution Plans are implemented, trained, and proactively managed to prevent quality defects on the project and ensures supervision is proactively trained and utilizes our PEP to create a safe and efficient workplace, and to prevent reworks on the project and to provide a superior product to the client.
* Participates in the upfront planning of the project and helps develop and ensure adherence to the project schedule including construction, testing, and commissioning with the project team.
* Actively works with Project Managers and other personnel to appropriately staff the project construction team and craft personnel and to ensure adequate resources are available to the construction team to meet schedule and budgetary requirements.
* Works with Project Manager and operations team to coordinate equipment selection to ensure timely delivery of all material and equipment to the project site necessary for project completion, ensuring resources are available as needed and costs are controlled.
* Responsible for safety of all personnel by ensuring the project effectively implements RMS Energy safety program and culture that is positive, respectful, and proactive at the project. Works with the Project Safety Team to continually review and improve the safety program.
* Maintain and update SOW and preconstruction documents, and meet contract obligations by developing relationships with reliable contractors and vendors
* Provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors when doing work to ensure that quality standards are being met
* Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections throughout the construction process, ensuring that the work environment is acceptable and that tools and equipment are in good working condition
* Manages the client's site team relationship during the project construction phase with the goal of collaborating, serving, and building a mutual and trusting relationship. Proactively shares with the client project/construction status and any events needing attention. Provides solutions to the client's site team.
* Troubleshoots issues as they arise, evaluates alternatives, proposes solutions, and gains construction team buy-in. Respond efficiently and effectively to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions
* Resolve any disputes or conflicts that arise during the construction process, including issues with subcontractors, suppliers, or clients, to maintain project momentum.
* Works with Project Manager and operations team to create scenario plan, develop alternative work plans and help the construction team overcome schedule constraints during the project construction.
* Communicates, collaborates with, and updates the Project Manager on overall project status and any help needed for improving safety, quality, schedule, risks, opportunities, changes, and people.
* Works with Project Manager on all aspect of project budget, productivity, and schedule. Facilitates understanding of construction budget and cost to the construction team and ensures the supervision understands and is actively managing against budget.
* Provides input and works with Project Manager on monthly project forecasting and scheduling.
* Conduct post-project evaluations to assess what was successful and what could be improved, documenting lessons learned and integrating them into future project planning and execution strategies.
* Identify, mitigate, and track recurring construction issues.
Qualifications:
* PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a strong customer focus and the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
* Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills, demonstrating a capacity for managing multiple priorities and driving project success.
* 10+ Years of managing utility scale generation projects including high voltage infrastructure.
* Prior experience managing field operations teams preferred
* Proficiency in project management tools to include Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel
* Prior experience managing government (state/federal) projects preferred
* Prior experience with electrical installation/construction projects

Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly subject to various job site environments. The position demands physical mobility to navigate uneven surfaces, the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, fine motor skills for handling small components and tools, and the capability to climb ladders and work at heights. Sustained physical effort, including standing, bending, pushing, digging, pulling, kneeling, crawling, and reaching for extended periods, is required. Good vision, including color vision and depth perception, and the ability to hear alarms and communicate in noisy environments are essential. Additionally, proficiency in speaking, hearing, reading, and typing in English is required for effective communication and documentation.
Travel requirements will make it necessary to drive a car (day and/or night) and at times fly in an airplane. This position has varying travel requirements consistent with job location, workload, and maximizing utilization. Travel demands can range up to 60%.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee be required to perform keying functions, grasp and pinch to write. The employee will frequently (34-66% of the workday) be required to sit, walk and stand. Occasionally (6-33% of the workday), the employee will be required to bend, twist/turn, reach out, lift/carry and push and pull. The employee infrequently (2-5% of the workday) will be required to squat/kneel and climb. The employee is required to infrequently (2-5% of the workday) lift and carry up to 21-50 pounds and will occasionally (6-33% of the workday) be required to lift and carry 11 to 20 pounds.
