Job Description:

RK&K is hiring a dedicated and strong Construction Manager/ Engineer to support complex water/wastewater construction projects in Hampton Roads, Virginia. The ideal Resident will bring at least 10 years of construction inspection / management experience involving site, structural, process, HVAC, and electrical, instrumentation and control improvements including extensive experience with engineering materials, construction methods, industry standards and building codes, construction plans and technical specifications and construction submittals including schedules, shop drawings, and pay applications.   • Provide construction management, supervision, and leadership for a multi-year large and complex wastewater construction project in Newport News, Virginia
  • Fully engage in solving problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions while independently coordinating and directing all phases of construction inspection including special disciplinary inspections and material testing
  • Oversight of project record-keeping, scheduling, and reporting as required
  • Preside over scheduled project progress meetings and participate/document routine project planning/look ahead meetings
  • Communicate effectively across different platforms with project design, owner and construction personnel, stakeholders, and the public
  • Working knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft Office products
Required Skills and Experience
  • At least ten (10) years of progressive inspection and construction engineering/management experience involving site, structural, process, HVAC, and electrical, instrumentation and control improvements
  • Extensive experience with and knowledge of engineering materials , construction methods , industry standards and building codes , construction plans and technical specifications, and construction submittals
  • Understanding of QA/QC development and execution processes
  • Collaborative team mind-set fostering teamwork, partnership, and successful outcomes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Application of mathematical formulas and engineering principles
  • Digital communication and record keeping literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Oracle products
Other Requirements
  • Current safety, inspection and/or construction management certifications (desirable) or ability to promptly obtain such
  • Valid driver's license and favorable driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
