Job Summary:
Atlas is seeking an experienced CMT Materials Testing Technician to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. This individual will primarily be providing field testing and inspections of concrete, masonry, soils, aggregates, and asphalt for private and public projects including, but not limited to, buildings, roads, bridges and related infrastructure. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Performs construction-related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer.
* Daily commutable travels to various construction sites primarily throughout SW Pennsylvania, with the occasional overnight and/or weekend work when required. Out-of-state travel is typically voluntary.
* Relays information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making.
* Transports equipment, test specimens and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up.
* Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.
* Performs field quality control tests of concrete and masonry construction.
* Performs field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.
* Assists other technicians or professional staff on tasks, and supports other departments as necessary.
* Mentorship and training support of other technicians and interns.
* Follows Atlas' safety policies and procedures.
* Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs
* Ability to follow Atlas' QC plan and SOP's
