As a multi-discipline firm, Isett provides a full range of engineering and consulting services, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, environmental, geotechnical, and municipal engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, code enforcement, plan review, construction management, construction materials testing, and grant writing services to clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.Our Construction Materials Testing group is searching for the right candidate to join our team in Allentown and/or Mechanicsburg, PA and/or Hazelton, PA. Inspection certifications including ACI concrete Field-testing Technician Grade I and Nuclear Gauge Safety training, and relative experience are desired. Should the successful candidate not currently hold the above-mentioned certifications, the candidate will receive in house training and be required to obtain the certifications within 90 days of hire. Responsibilities will include inspection and testing of construction materials in both laboratory and field environments to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications, collection of data and preparation of detailed reports, maintaining client relationships, and schedule management and time tracking. Additional positions and advancement opportunities are available through obtaining additional certifications (ICC, ACI, AISC, AWS, etc.), demonstrated field work, and exemplified project management abilities. Requirements
- Comfortable working outside in diverse weather conditions and on varied terrain.
- Able to stand, walk, reach, balance, and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Accepts a flexible schedule and works as part of a team.
- Self-motivated ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills with timely responsiveness (phone, email, text).
- Experience on construction projects with prior knowledge of general practices, procedures, and building elements.
- Mindful of professional etiquette while managing relationships with associates, clients, contractors, and code officials.
- Demonstrate multitasking capabilities in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Detail oriented; possessing strong writing skills and computer proficiency (Microsoft word and Excel).
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites.
