- Testing materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, and asphalt for diverse projects across Maryland.
- Preparing detailed field reports with test results and observations.
- Learning to communicate with clients, contractors, and engineering staff regarding construction issues.
- Gaining familiarity with testing procedures aligned with national standards.
CORE REQUIREMENTS:We're looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalency certification.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- A willingness to learn and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
- The ability to obtain certifications within 1 year of employment including but not limited to OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety Training; MDOT SHA Erosion & Sediment Control (Yellow Card) and Temporary Traffic Control Manager; Maryland Department of Environment Responsible Personnel Certification; Nuclear Gauge Safety Training; ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I; and the Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Program licensure which includes Soils & Aggregate, Asphalt Field Technician, Concrete Field Testing Technician, and Pavement Marking.
- Physical ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., walk on rough terrain, and stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours on occasion).
- The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical tasks required on job sites.
PREFERRED:
- Industry standard testing and inspection certifications.
