We are a dynamic and growing construction company specializing in both commercial and municipal projects in the New York metropolitan area. We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Accountant to join our team and ensure smooth financial operations on our construction projects.
Job Description:The Construction Project Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects, including progress billing, collections, change orders, allowances, and supporting documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AIA billing, experience with construction accounting processes, and the ability to manage project-related financial documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and submit progress billings in accordance with AIA standards.
- Monitor collections and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Ensure all required supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
- Maintain accurate financial records for assigned projects.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial compliance.
- Assist with project budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage change orders and allowances in the financial system.
- Reconcile project costs and revenue on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction project accounting.
- Strong knowledge of AIA billing, progress billing, change orders, and allowances.
- Familiarity with collections processes in a construction environment.
- Experience with construction accounting software;
- Plexxis experience is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills are a must.
- Textura experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Schedule:
- 4 days in the office, 1 day remote.
