Lochmueller Group is seeking an experienced Construction Project Supervisorto join our team in South Bend, Indiana. - Serve as the resident project representative or project supervisor for construction projects of varying size and complexity.
- Ensure the completion of projects is carried out in conformance with the plans and specifications and that approved schedule and procedures are followed.
- Coordinate and run pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, pre-final inspections, and all other required project meetings.
- Establish a working relationship with project owners and keep them informed of all significant project issues.
- Supervise other construction inspectors assigned to the project.
- Interpret plans, specifications, and construction methods for inspectors and contractors.
- Supervise and perform sampling, testing, and inspection of materials on the jobsite and ensures compliance with specifications.
- Recommend revisions to existing plans, specifications, and special provisions as dictated by field conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
- Prepare progress and final estimates, project accounting, records and receipts, change orders, and other reports.
- Supervise and inspect execution and completion of various utility relocation work to assure compatibility with the proposed plans.
- May perform other duties related to the role.
Qualifications for this role:
- 5+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering preferred; Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience working as a construction inspector and/or construction project supervisor on DOT or local agency projects.
- Working knowledge of state and federal regulations and specification requirements for road, bridge, and sewer construction along with a strong knowledge of inspection and related construction practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
