Location: Lytle,TX, USA
Primary Purpose:
Manage assigned construction projects within the District and coordinate with design professionals, consultants, agents, vendors, contractors and district staff in the implementation of all NBISD new construction and bond related projects. This position is bond funded; therefore, annual employment is contingent upon continued availability of funds.
Experience:
* Currently serve, or have served in a project management role with a school district or other public entity.
* Working knowledge of processes and procedures related to school district construction and operations
* Experience with and a firm knowledge base of commercial construction and construction related activities.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Project Management
1. Manage construction on multiple school district projects including scheduling, RFI's, change orders, and reviewing/approving contract shop drawings.
2. Assist coordinator/liaison with contracted architectural, engineering and management professionals involved in planning, design and construction projects.
3. Assure conformity of design with program requirements, time schedules, budget limitations, construction codes and district standards and criteria.
4. Ensure compliance with regulations and school district requirements in the performance of project work.
5. Inspects regularly identified capital improvement projects for compliance with construction documents.
6. Inspects regularly identified capital improvement project rates of progress, workmanship and job-site safety.
7. Fields construction-related questions, construction document clarifications, and reports to the Senior Project Manager and Director for resolution as needed.
8. Review and approve contactor progress payments.
9. Update internal staff (administration, school leadership, etc.) on project progress and scheduling.
10. Monitor workmanship per contractual requirements on a regular basis at job sites.
11. Participate in planning and school facilities design conferences with department and district administrators.
12. Advise Senior Project Manager and the Director of Planning and Construction on matters regarding assigned functions/departments.

13. Ensure compliance with district, state and national policies and procedures.
14. Provides field reports as necessary on the accomplishment of job requirements.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Frequent standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, heavy lifting and carrying. Frequently required to walk, climb stairs/ladders. Frequently required to lift and carry between 15 and 44 lbs. Exposure to wet and dry conditions along with extreme heat. May be exposed to mechanical operations, be in high, precarious places, around fumes or airborne particles as well as caustic chemicals, and possibly very loud work environment. Frequent travel to multiple campuses.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in building construction, construction management or related field preferred. Additional years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirements.
