Salary: $36.06/hr $75,000 annually Weekly Pay with Benefit Options Shifts Available:
  • Mon. - Fri. - First Shift
*90 day Contract Temp to Perm Location: Fort Worth, TXESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Manages project submittals, schedule and budget to achieve maximum profitability. Review estimate and/or scope of work to identify contract and project requirements; Develop schedule of values, project schedules, equipment plans, and sequencing for projects to meet revenue goals, manage budget, meet deadlines and project requirements. Responsible for performing estimating services and accurate pricing for changes on projects; Oversee project buyout and vendor selection. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, this function is expected to contribute to all aspects of the business management. Participates in informal and formal presentations on negotiated projects. The position must Lead, Manage and hold direct reports Accountable (LMA) for their areas of responsibility.
  • Create a schedule of values (SOV) to maximize cash flow and profitability.
    • Analyze project requirements to determine the scope of work.
    • Determine dollar value for each scope of work
    • Organize to generate maximum cash flow
    • Submit SOV within two (2) weeks of Notice to Proceed (NTP) or Subcontract
  • Develop project schedule for all project values exceeding $20,000.00.
    • Review subcontract and scope of work for requirements and deadlines
    • Establish timelines for key tasks/milestones/long lead items
    • Enter data in BusyBusy and/or designated schedule software
    • Update schedule weekly and/or as changes are identified, whichever comes first
  • Manage projects to meet or exceed gross margins as defined in project budget.

    • Availability/Timeline
    • Location - are field measurements needed? If so, local vendor preferred.
    • Past performance: timeliness, quality, accuracy, and ease of communication
    • Skills and/or Special Requirements - AISC certification, Stamped drawings, and/or engineering services - Can they provide this in-house? If not, select a vendor for engineering
    • Select engineering firm, if needed
    • Identify vendors and following purchase guidelines, select to meet budget
    • Focus on long lead items first
    • Establish terms and conditions if necessary
    • Purchase materials and/or buyout items
    • Assign labor and resources to complete project within desired timeframe and budget.
    • Coordinate delivery, installation, changes, and/or submittal process with customer.
    • Perform site visits and/or attend project coordination meetings, as needed.
    • Submit pay applications, request for changes, change orders, and/or contract notices by designated due dates.
  • Report project results on a weekly basis.
    • Monitor project progress and performance projects to meet or exceed gross margins
    • Respond decisively to any project challenges and/or variances that jeopardize project goals
    • Keep team updated on project progress and performance via reports, schedules, and/or regular meetings
    • Maintain current and historical production information for continuous improvement
  • Manage, coach, and develop direct reports.

    • Assist direct reports with performance evaluation and career development
    • Give both formal and informal feedback to direct reports
  • Other duties as assigned.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, interior design, or estimating-related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Requires 2 to 5 years of professional experience with proven business ethics and demonstrated competency in construction estimating, project management, engineering and/or contract administration.
  • Excellent oral, written, and computer skills - Office 365 Suite, especially in Excel and MS Project estimating software.
  • Must be able to obtain OSHA 10/30 certification within six months of employment.
  • Excellent estimating skills, good reasoning abilities, and sound judgment.
  • Attention to detail and mental concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks and handling frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to make effective and sound decisions having significant financial impact on the company.
  • Ability to work independently and operate under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Potential for travel to job sites within Texas
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office and job site for up to 80% of the time
  • Constantly works in either indoor office or outdoor field conditions
  • Must be able to work extended schedule required by job demands.
