Job Description:

We are working on behalf of a client to fill a Construction Project Manager role base in Los Angeles or Ontario, CA (relocation assistance provided). The role will have business development responsibilities as well.

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent time management skills, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of construction projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Identify design criteria and plan and execute effective designs.
  • Assist in business development, marketing, and generating new leads.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Utilize construction management software such as AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D .
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets while ensuring compliance with contracts.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that arise.
  • Review and interpret blueprints and schematics to guide construction activities.
  • Oversee construction estimating processes to ensure accurate budgeting.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement safety protocols and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
  • EIT or PE (or willingness to complete PE in two years) required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in construction management.
  • At least 3 years of experience being the design lead on the team.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management software (Prolog, Civil 3D) and blueprint reading.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with construction estimating techniques and contract management.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to mentor others and supervise the work of others.
