Brief Description

The purpose of this position is to implement, manage, and place into service rehabilitated, newly constructed, and/or expanded capital improvement projects in addition to operations/maintenance projects for the Brazos River Authority (BRA). The position manages and oversees Project Coordinators, Central Office operations and maintenance, and Reservoir System Maintenance Units (RSMU) staff responsible for facility maintenance and improvements as described above. This is accomplished by working with BRA project teams, consulting engineers, testing consultants, general contractors, third-party Resident Project Representatives (RPR), suppliers, BRA management, project and operating staff, customers, regulators, and others to ensure projects are planned, implemented, administered, and constructed as designed, within contract time and cost, and functions as expected. Other responsibilities include: supervising staff, developing budgets, presenting information to BRA Board of Directors, providing peer review and technical support for new design projects throughout the basins; making recommendations to upper management on project matters that impact implementation, design, construction, operation, cost and scheduling; providing input and relative information/experience to support contract negotiations and administration of construction contracts and documents; overseeing a team of reservoir maintenance workers responsible for heavy industrial maintenance activity at BRA reservoirs and construction project coordinators who provide site observation and input on various construction projects; assisting other departments as part of a team; and any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education in construction management
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and good driving record
  • Preferred: Certified Construction Manager or Registered Professional Engineer
  • BA (Construction Mgmt./Civil Engineering) - Completed course requirements to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: Min: $128,853 to $167,509 annual salary. This is an exempt position.
