Job Description

AECOM is currently pursuing an experienced Construction Resident Project Manager to support various projects located within the New York, NY area. The Construction Resident Project Manager (Engineer) will support its Construction Management Teams working in the NYC Metropolitan area on public transit and commuter rail systems.

Position Responsibilities:

+ Provide oversight of the field construction inspectors during the project construction phase including; preparation of inspectors daily work schedules, ensuring site safety monitoring, technical oversight, quality of construction, and Client satisfaction

+ Accountable for the planning, coordination and inspection and construction management activities and assignments of all direct reporting staff to ensure efficient utilization of staffing

+ Balance work in the project office with the senior management team and also provide supervision of the field inspection teams working nights and weekends

+ Interface with multiple contractors to ensure coordination of construction activities and acquisition of force account support staff with multiple transit and railroad agencies in a timely manner to meet aggressive project schedules

+ Evaluate, resolve and provide solutions to contractors and construction inspectors for constructability issues encountered at construction sites

+ Responsible for the timely and efficient acquisition of transit and railroad force account resources to support the ongoing construction

+ Assists the Project Management team in reviewing and implementing RFI's and change orders

+ Review project costs and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with specifications

+ Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate

+ Attend meetings and report on project tasks as needed

+ Monitor design changes, contractor and sub-contractor activities and progress

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering with 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

+ Due to the projects associated with this position a US Citizenship is required

+ Transit and Transportation Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience in the evaluation and validation of contractors change order requests against contract documents, negotiating change orders costs and schedule impacts and make recommendations to the Construction Manager and Program Manager

+ Experience in resident engineering, construction management, project management, engineering and related fields

+ Excellent interpersonal skills, staff supervision, strong negotiation skills and conflict resolution abilities

+ Knowledge and experience in performing inspection and resident engineering activities in active transit system environments, construction site safety standards, operations requirements and force account support services

+ Excellent written communications and presentation abilities in internal project settings with, the senior management team, external project stakeholders including senior client management leadership

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $87,778.70 - $162,390.59.
