COGS has partnered with one of the largest commercial General Contractors in Texas as they seek an experienced Safety Professional to join their team

My client is one of the largest General Contractors in the state of Texas providing expertise in building complex facilities, for clients in commercial space including education, healthcare, research, and the public sector.

Due to increased market demand for their services and several on going projects, they are in growth mode and expanding! This has led to increased opportunities for career trajectory and hence they are looking for Environment Health and Safety Coordinator to take ownership of their safety procedures for their sites in RGV.

This is a full time permanent position based on site in McAllen, TX with salary up to 145K DOE + Benefits + Relocation Assistance

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees both general contractor and owner safety program requirements.
  • Develops tailored onsite safety programs as needed.
  • Conducts site audits to identify unsafe practices/conditions, provides corrective recommendations or regulation guidance.
  • Leads or participates in accident investigations.
  • Provides training for personnel (e.g., toolbox talks, general meetings).
  • Reports workers' compensation claims and manages onsite claims for the company and subcontractors.
  • Handles record keeping and documentation for HAZCOM, training, and reports to owners.
  • Assists in creating and maintaining hazard analysis documentation.
  • Administers First Aid, CPR, and AED as necessary.
  • Keeps up-to-date with safety regulations.
  • Performs additional duties to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
  • Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in with a Commercial General Contractors or minimum of 7 years experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree.
