Terra Site Constructors, LLC, dba Terra Constructs, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Director to oversee and enhance the company's safety program. This role will be crucial in implementing safety policies, ensuring compliance, and promoting a culture of safety across the organization. The Safety Director will collaborate with project teams and leadership to ensure all safety initiatives align with company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy Implementation: Assist in the development and implementation of Company Safety policies and practices.
- Program Management: Manage and continuously improve project-specific safety programs to align with industry standards and company objectives.
- Training Coordination: Conduct and coordinate safety training programs for all employees, ensuring ongoing education and compliance.
- Preplanning Support: Participate in project preplanning sessions, providing safety-related advice to project teams.
- Incident Management: Investigate accidents and/or injuries, ensuring thorough documentation and implementation of preventive measures.
- Safety Audits: Conduct regular Safety audits on projects to identify, document, and recommend solutions to hazardous or unsafe work conditions.
- Employee Well-being: Manage cases involving injured employees, coordinating with medical providers to ensure appropriate treatment and facilitate return-to-work plans.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor safety performance across the organization, identify areas for improvement, and address safety issues.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the safety team to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Safety Professional in the Construction (Heavy Civil) industry.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Technical field preferred. Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills (English and Spanish languages), proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office, safety management software), and familiarity with EPA regulations related to environmental health and safety.
- Leadership: Ability to work collaboratively with a team, with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to safety management.
