Job DetailsWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Safety Inspector to join our commercial general contracting firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting inspections, and promoting a culture of safety across our construction projects. The ideal candidate will be passionate about workplace safety and have a proven track record of implementing effective safety programs in the construction industry. They will be a proactive leader who can build relationships with project teams and subcontractors to ensure safety compliance across all levels of the organization.Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
  • Develop and implement safety procedures, policies, and guidelines in alignment with industry best practices
  • Provide safety training to employees and subcontractors on proper work practices, equipment usage, and emergency procedures
  • Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents, assisting in the development of corrective actions
  • Monitor and report on key safety performance indicators (KPIs) for projects
  • Review and approve contractor safety plans prior to construction
  • Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce safety awareness
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and training activities
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry standards
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety inspection or management
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction industry safety standards
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and safety management software
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple job sites
