We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Safety Specialist (PSA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, with a minimum of five (5) years dedicated exclusively to building construction safety. This role requires an individual with hands-on experience, practical knowledge, and documented continuing education in critical areas of construction safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards on all construction sites.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections focusing on fall protection, scaffolding, excavations, confined spaces, crane/equipment operations, electrical safety, and incident investigation.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to site personnel.
- Maintain up-to-date records of safety training and certifications.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years dedicated solely to building construction safety.
- Practical knowledge, working experience, and documented continuing education in fall protection, scaffolding, excavations, confined spaces, crane/equipment operations, electrical safety, incident investigation, and other safety/health-related training. Training must be at least four (4) hours in duration per topic.
- Continuing education in noted training dated within five (5) years of the contract execution.
- Possession of a certificate of completion for OSHA 510, OSHA 500, or OSHA 502, dated within five (5) years of the contract execution.
- Current certification in Emergency First Aid, CPR, and AED, with certification dated within the last two (2) years.
- An OSHA 10/30 Construction Outreach or OSHA 510 certification alone will not meet this requirement.
