Role Overview:
Our client are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join a reputable and growing general contracting firm. The Estimator will play a critical role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company profitability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Analysis: Review and analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to determine the scope of work.
- Cost Estimation: Calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs to prepare detailed and accurate estimates.
- Bid Preparation: Assemble and submit competitive bids and proposals, adhering to deadlines.
- Supplier and Vendor Management: Source materials and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost efficiency.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and incorporate contingencies into estimates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure project alignment with budgets and timelines.
- Tracking and Reporting: Maintain records of estimates, proposals, and awarded projects, providing regular updates to management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction estimating, preferably in the commercial construction sector.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost structures.
