Position: Senior Construction Estimator

Role Overview:

Our client are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join a reputable and growing general contracting firm. The Estimator will play a critical role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Analysis: Review and analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to determine the scope of work.
  • Cost Estimation: Calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs to prepare detailed and accurate estimates.
  • Bid Preparation: Assemble and submit competitive bids and proposals, adhering to deadlines.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management: Source materials and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and incorporate contingencies into estimates.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure project alignment with budgets and timelines.
  • Tracking and Reporting: Maintain records of estimates, proposals, and awarded projects, providing regular updates to management.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction estimating, preferably in the commercial construction sector.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost structures.
