JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide economic/feasibility studies for handling, lifting and installing large, heavy, and critical equipment. - Develop preliminary lifting/construction planning for proposal estimates and presentations. - Provide input to the project planning activities related to constructability issues. - Develop erection sequences of structures and projects. - Structural modeling and analysis of steel structures in support of the construction process. - Perform lift analysis and rigging design for field operations. - Detailed steel and concrete design for temporary structures and construction devices. - Preparation and review of calculations, drawings, reports and operation manuals. - Responsible for reviews and approvals of all subcontracted lifting and rigging plans, including verification of rigging certifications, ground bearing calculations, crane lifting capabilities and clearances. - Participate in client and internal coordination meetings to ensure all design related activities are recognized and properly communicated to all parties involved. - Provide field oversight for the execution of the heavy lift operations. - Stay current on industry trends, technology, codes, and methods to provide safe and efficient plans. - Available to travel regionally to field construction sites. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and 5 to 7 years industry experience. - Experience in similar construction services or rigging engineer role. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ohio or the ability to obtain registration within 1 year is required. - Strong computer skills, especially AutoCAD, 3D Lift Plan and/or similar applications.
