Position: Construction Superintendent
Location: Cherry Point, NC
An established organization is seeking an experienced Field Superintendent to provide leadership, planning, and construction management expertise for the scheduling, execution, and successful delivery of multimillion-dollar construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day construction site operations, ensuring project success.
- Perform trade layout tasks to verify subcontractor work aligns with project plans and specifications.
- Monitor work progress regularly to ensure the project remains on track.
- Lead subcontractors to meet production goals effectively.
- Maintain knowledge of trades and scopes of work, ensuring proper construction methods are utilized.
- Review project schedules, address potential delays, and document progress accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, local ordinances, and company guidelines.
- Provide onsite leadership, directing field and construction management activities.
- Communicate updates and issues effectively with project managers, owners, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Inspect and monitor work quality, addressing deficiencies or deviations as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, and construction personnel to determine project needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar role within commercial or government construction.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- OSHA 30-hour Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- USACE QCMC Certification and/or EM-385.1.1 Certification.
- Strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection layout and construction practices.
- Team-oriented with the ability to effectively collaborate and complete projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and manpower management.
- Proven ability to lead subcontractor field operations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Suite, ProCore, eCMS, or other industry-standard project management systems.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field (preferred).
