Job Summary The Project Superintendent is required to manage all daily on-site construction operations and must be versed in construction methodologies and procedures as well as be able to communicate effectively across different disciplines to achieve the most efficient results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and good organizational skills. - Direct the day-to-day coordination of all contractors and their sub-contractors to ensure safety, production, quality, and schedules are maintained.
- Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents.
- Manage the on-site construction work ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage a team of workers and subcontractors which includes work schedules, project progress, and resources. Following the project timeline to ensure deadlines are met.
- Placing orders and coordinating materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain records for site personnel such as daily log reports, field orders, and RFIs reporting to management as necessary.
- Monitoring and ensuring on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other construction management to determine schedule timelines.
- Responsible for ensuring quality standards, and all equipment standards are met.
- Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute the contracted scope of work successfully.
- Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the safety and compliance requirements.
- Maintain a written daily report of all site activities, visitors, and inspections.
- Identify and resolve problems and conflicts by organizing meetings and cooperating with team members in various roles as needed.
- Set an example in keeping the job site organized and clean, including meeting standards for waste disposal and environmental protection and safety.
- Coordinate the updated contract documents.
- Ensure all work is performed to proper QAQC standards.
- Ensure all contractors maintain and follow OSHA standards and The ICC Group's safety policies.
- Lead subcontractor weekly progress meetings and actively participate in Owner Architect Meetings
- Oversee project quality plan.
Qualifications
- 10 years of Construction field experience with 3-5 years of this experience as a Project Superintendent on $5 Million or larger projects.
- AS or BS in Construction Management is a plus, but not required.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, facility, or warehousing is preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Construction documents - Blue-Prints, Specifications, Change Directives, and Contract Scopes of Work.
- Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors, government officials, and clients.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, especially when addressing customers, clients, or official visitors.
- Attention to detail to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards.
- Ability to stand for several hours at a time and to walk in varying climate conditions and on uneven ground.
- Experience with managing demanding clients and offering creative solutions to meet commitments and requests.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Project, and Excel.
- OSHA 10 HR and OSHA 30 HR Certified.
- Red Cross AED and First Aid Certification are a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
