Job Description:
Our client, a leading construction management firm, is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join their team. This role is crucial in ensuring successful project execution and site management.Job PurposeAs a Construction Superintendent, you will oversee the operations of the construction site from planning to completion. You will be responsible for daily scheduling, supervising all activities and tasks, coordinating sub-contractors, and ensuring the safety and compliance of the site.Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction Site Management and Coordination (70%)Enforce safe work practices including OSHA standards and company/client safety programsDevelop project workplans and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedulesCoordinate on-site subcontractors, consultants, and vendorsHold weekly contractor job site meetings to address issues proactivelyManage submittal process and maintain daily logs and construction progress photosEnsure compliance with project plans, specifications, applicable laws, permits, and codesConduct quality control audits and mitigate risksReview, interpret, and ensure work complies with design drawings and regulationsManage work to meet or exceed construction industry standardsEnforce project site schedule to ensure timely and quality completion without incidentsMaintain field office and ensure the project site is consistently clean and organizedClient Relations (30%)Serve as the primary point of contact onsite for the ownerAct as a focal point for all parties interfacing on the siteEnsure timely information dissemination to all partiesAddress problems and challenges with urgency, collaborating with the team as neededApply learnings to improve communications and processesRequired QualificationsAssociates or bachelor's degree in construction management or related trades experienceMinimum 2 years' experience in construction managementProven ability to manage complex projectsStrong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to operate with integrity and empathy, building lasting trust-based relationshipsSelf-directed and highly organized approach to workAbility to hold self and others accountable to drive projects forwardDemonstrated knowledge of codes and construction practicesComputer skills with competency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and BluebeamExperience reading and interpreting plans and specificationsAbility to travel approximately 30-50% of the time and accommodate flexible schedulingPreferred QualificationsCertifications such as OSHA and CCMSafety trainingProcore proficiencyExperience working with K-12 facilities, programs, and prioritiesAbility to translate technical jargon and project-related information to meet client needs#J-18808-Ljbffr
