Job Description:

Our client is a premier general contractor specializing in high-quality commercial construction projects. With a strong track record of delivering large-scale, complex builds, they are known for their commitment to excellence.

They are currently seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join their team in Houston, Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations on commercial construction projects, ensuring that each project is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring quality control, and maintaining clear communication across all project stakeholders.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and maintain detailed project reports, identifying potential issues and proactively addressing them.
  • Monitor project progress, reviewing schedules, and adjusting keep the project on track.
  • Ensure the work site is organized, safe, and compliant with all local and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Review and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Resolve on-site issues and challenges in a timely and efficient manner to minimize project delays.
  • Prepare and review construction documentation, including daily logs, safety reports, and progress updates.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent with a General Contractor background.
  • Proven experience managing commercial construction projects valued at $15 million or more.
  • Experience working on K-12 educational facilities is highly advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methods, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.
  • A strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification and other relevant industry certifications.
  • A Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
