About the Role
My client are seeking a dedicated and experienced Superintendent to oversee rail or school projects in Manhattan. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with New York City Transit (NYCT), the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), or the School Construction Authority (SCA). This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee all on-site aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.
- Team Coordination: Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
- Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, adhering to OSHA standards.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise effectively with clients, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, reports, and records.
- Problem Solving: Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process promptly and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry, with specific experience on NYCT, MTA, or SCA projects.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications: OSHA 10 and 30 certifications are required. Additional certifications in project management or construction safety are a plus.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of NYCT, MTA, or SCA standards, regulations, and best practices.
