The Construction Supervisor (CS) is a hands-on manager of various projects, working closely with and directly reporting back to the Project Manager (PM). The CS helps coordinate and develop all staff on the site including Cape Associates employees, subcontractors, and vendors. The CS will inspect the daily project progress and arrange for necessary materials, and equipment to get the job done, while ensure the project is within budget and on track with deadlines. This progress is reported back to the PM, through a combination of office/site meetings, emails, and reports. The CS makes sure specifications and plans, of the architect or owner, are being met in conjunction with the stipulated contract, schedule, and budget. The CS may be involved in selecting specific material, vendors, and subcontractors as well as ensuring that these individuals are working well together. The CS needs to be able to spearhead potential issues and troubleshoot problems that arise on the job. The CS is responsible for making sure the jobsite is left secured, broom clean every day, and that all equipment is working properly. The CS must maintain safe work practices, follow state and local guidelines/codes, concerning building projects. The CS may hold regular meetings with workers to review worksite safety and arrange for any necessary equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel. Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors. Managing and mentoring employees, subcontractors, and vendors. Ability to manage multiple crews of 3-6 employees. Providing adequate resources to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs. Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures Assist company leadership with project staffing projections, staff oversight and staff development. Manage projects of any size that are sold by others and handed off to you Nurture and develop relationships with clients, architects and engineers as well as continually expand your own professional network. Deliver the highest quality product achievable while maintaining strict adherence to budget parameters set forth by the client. Must be able to complete work abiding by national, state, and local codes, including safety regulations. Assist the Project Manager with change orders and estimates. Schedule Town Inspections. Collaborate with team members to ensure that the project is running smoothly. Manage and organize on site documents. Work independently without much instruction. Must have own tools and reliable transportation. Must have a strong attention to detail. REQUIREMENTS: 7 plus years of prior experience. A valid Driver?s License and reliable transportation. Own a full set of tools. OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and Construction Supervisor License. Must be able to lift 80 lbs. Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team. Strong attention to detail and a strong commitment to high quality of work. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of working long hours in harsh weather conditions. Good math and problem-solving skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 80 pounds. Physically fit and able to perform various tasks that include standing, climbing, lifting, walking, reaching, crawling, etc.
