Assist the Construction Manager with implementing quality construction plans that meet the needs of homeowners and fit within project budgets. Coordinate and lead on-site building activities in accordance with Bennington County Habitat for Humanitys mission and standard of excellence.This is a 40 hour per week (Tuesday - Saturday), full-time position with benefits that reports to the Construction Manager.Responsibilities:In accordance with all required State and Federal building codes and Bennington County Habitat for Humanity plans, specifications, budgeted resources, and quality and environmental requirements, supervises daily construction activity and provides leadership to construction activity, including all paid contractors.Works closely with the Construction Manager to ensure materials and service needs are provided in a timely manner to the job sites.Treats house recipients with respect and dignity. Strives to make their construction involvement meaningful and reminds others of this ministry requirement.Understands elements that contribute to successful volunteers and helps ensure that volunteers have a consistently good experience thus motivating them to return.Is a trained HfHI competent safety person who evaluates and implements good safety practices and constantly stresses the same with volunteers.Identifies volunteer jobs/needs not currently filled and communicates needs to the Construction Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.Trains crew leaders and all new volunteers utilizing knowledge from crew leaders and other trained volunteers.Supervises all site preparation and layout and all warranty complaints and repairs.Communicate with the Construction Manager weekly about building progress and how the project(s) are progressing against the projected timeline.Understand that you are not only leading the team but you are a member of it and will be expected on occasion to swing a hammer as well.Perform Home Repair site visits to determine if the requested project fits BCHfH program requirements.If project is accepted, obtain required permits; Develop a plan, budget and acquire necessary materials;Manage the site and execution of the project to completion or delegate to appropriate volunteer.Take daily site photos and send them to the office or delegate to appropriate volunteer.Daily track volunteer hours in the VolunteerUp system.Meets long and short term goals established with the Construction Manager and Executive Director.
