We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Fiber Construction Supervisor to oversee our construction teams, ensuring the successful completion of fiber optic projects.Position Overview: As the Fiber Construction Supervisor, you will manage the daily activities of construction, personnel, ensuring timely and accurate project completion. You will be responsible for scheduling, planning, and monitoring construction jobs, maintaining safety standards, and providing training to staff.Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Management: Oversee the daily activities of construction and personnel. Schedule staff, monitor workflow, check work for accuracy, set project timelines, and resolve daily work issues. Conduct on-the-job training for job duties and equipment operation.
- Project Oversight: Track progress of ongoing construction projects, determine staff, equipment, and timeline needs. Advise management of project status and resource requirements. Manage and track equipment locations to ensure availability where needed.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with company and safety standards. Provide monthly safety training, monitor fieldwork for adherence to safety policies, and ensure all staff have appropriate safety training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Conduct hazard analysis, maintain OSHA compliance, and report accidents or damage promptly.
- Communication & Reporting: Attend meetings with management to discuss company goals and strategies. Assist in forecasting construction projects and budgets. Evaluate and recommend equipment needs and replacements.
- Team Development: Provide regular feedback and guidance to direct reports. Conduct performance evaluations, support professional development, and address career objectives and training goals.
- Miscellaneous Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by management and engage in regular reviews with supervisors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of telecommunications industry standards and construction practices.
- Proficiency in fiber optic fault location, splicing, and testing.
- Skilled in operating construction equipment and tools, including cable entry and splicing tools, as well as heavy machinery.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and co-workers.
- Knowledge of company safety policies, RUS grounding procedures, and basic installation practices.
- Ability to interpret documents such as maps, blueprints, schematics, and operation manuals.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License required.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of five years of experience in construction, communications, or utilities, or equivalent work experience.

Working Conditions:This position involves rigorous physical labor in outdoor settings, with exposure to extreme weather conditions including heat up to 110F and cold down to -20F.Mental, Emotional, and Physical Requirements:Ability to perform demanding physical labor and withstand extreme weather conditions.
