Job description Summary: Works on construction projects, usually working in utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another where demands require worker with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes, and stretches tight line.Bolts, nails, aligns, and blocks up under forms.Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.Levels earth to fine grade specifications.Mixes concrete.Smooths and finishes freshly poured cement or concrete.Erects scaffolding, shoring, and braces.Mops, brushes, or spreads paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protection.Sprays materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hose to clean, coat, or seal surfaces.Applies caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices.Grinds, sands, or polishes surfaces such as concrete, marble, terrazzo, or wood flooring.Demolishes buildings, saws lumber, dismantles forms, removes projections from concrete, mounts pipe hangers, and cuts and attaches insulating material.Assists in general site concrete work activities including digging, grubbing, moving forms and reinforcing steel, concrete placement, and cleanup.Assists in general masonry tender work as necessary.Learn rebar sizing, tying, cutting, bending.Learn the proper use, operation and maintenance of company equipment.Assists in structural steel erection.Demonstrates knowledge of basic construction materials, fasteners, and equipment.Assists in basic door frame, door, window installations.Assists in metal stud, drywall, and ceiling installations.Assists in constructing advanced concrete forming systems.Assists in basic finish carpentry activities.Performs as a competent helper for basic steel, roofing, and siding activities.Performs as a competent helper for basic rough carpentry activities.Learn, follow and properly use crane signals.Demonstrates the proper use and care of any advanced power tools.Learn proper materials and methods for patching and rubbing of walls.Learn use of basic carpentry, concrete carpentry and steel materials, fasteners, and equipment.
