We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates as they are under-represented within the Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time (10 PA's) substantive Consultant General Paediatrician at UHBW! We are seeking enthusiastic, passionate and dynamic individuals who will enhance our established team of Consultant Paediatricians. You will take part in the general workload of the department and play a vital role in the delivery of healthcare for Children and Young People across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. We are looking for a colleague who is driven and enterprising, but also adaptable, to join our team. Being a great and flexible team-player is essential. Expertise in an area of special interest to complement those already available in the Department is welcome.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be an integral part of the General Paediatric service, delivering weeks as the named service consultant, as well as contributing to the second on call rota, year-round. Outside their service weeks, the successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to the hospital paediatric overnight on-call rota, covering General Paediatrics, Medical HDU and speciality patients.

General Paediatrics provide rapid access clinics and routine general paediatric clinics and the postholder will be expected to deliver these in a variety of locations across the city to allow patients to access healthcare closer to home.

An exciting new development with BrisDoc is the provision of same day telephone advice to Primary Care in order to avoid admission and to ensure the right care in the right place at the right time; the postholder will be expected to contribute to this new service.

The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to the safeguarding rota during 4 service weeks/year.
