IU Health is actively looking for a Consultant-Lactation I to join the Adult Medical Unit at Bloomington Hospital. This is a prn (as needed) position, with two available shifts: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM, depending on the day of the week. Develops, markets, and implements plans for the program. Increases awareness of the lactation program and develop educational materials for use with various audiences.
- Requires certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (I.B.L.C.E.).
- Current BLS Certification required.
- Background working with childbearing families or maternal health nursing.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to prioritize workload.
- Ability to plan and manage utilization of resources.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Basic Life Support certification required within 1 month of hire or upon completion of department orientation.
- Ability to provide clinical reasoning; decision-making and clinical thinking.
