The firm is seeking an experienced investment professional to join our Americas Distribution team within the Consultant Relations team, based in either New York or Chicago.

This role will primarily focus on a select group of leading consultants, supporting both alternative and traditional investment strategies. A thorough understanding of the consultant community, along with a solid working knowledge of both alternative and traditional strategies, is essential. Excellent relationship development skills are also required. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative individual who can foster strong working relationships with team members.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with the investment consultant community.
  • Help drive both product advocacy and product utilization within the consultant network with a strong emphasis on capital raising and commercial results.
  • Understand the preferences of the different consultants and deploy that intelligence across the firm to enable a focused sales and marketing effort and targeted product positioning.
  • Collaborate with investment teams and other distribution professionals in developing strategies to deepen consultant relationships and drive new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing and business response in nurturing top tier relationships with the consultant community.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with the ability as needed to cultivate relationships with clients and prospects in addition to consultants.
  • Foster an environment of teamwork and exceptional service orientation through supporting New York Life Investments values and mission.

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong academic credentials; advanced degree/designation a plus.
  • 10+ years of industry experience with at least three years focused on working with the investment consultant community.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of industry trends and investor's regulatory requirements, including various fund vehicles and SMAs.
  • Track record of developing and maintaining relationships with alternative and traditional investment consultants.
  • Ability to effectively integrate into a well-established organization.
  • Confident and decisive, with a strong voice, yet highly collaborative.
  • A strong combination of IQ and EQ.
  • Comfort with an entrepreneurially oriented reward system that prizes commercial success.
  • Demonstration of broader knowledge of other asset classes as well as experience in multiple geographic markets, including the US, Asia and Europe is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, with presentation experience in small and large group settings.
  • FINRA licensing highly preferred.

Pay Transparency:

Salary Range: $180,000 - $220,000

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
