Position Summary:

You will work with local governments around the country, conducting organizational, operational, process improvement and staffing studies. In our projects, we are independent and objective analysts, and our greatest value to clients is our ability to identify innovative solutions to issues facing each client.

While the firm works in all functional areas of local government, our greatest need at this time is for individuals with an interest and experience in the Public Works and/or Administrative Services (specifically, Administration, Finance, and Human Resources) sectors. Due to the analytical nature of this job, individuals with experience as a management analyst, budget analyst, or financial analyst are well-suited for this position.

This is a remote position and qualified applicants located anywhere in the United States are encouraged to apply.

Typical Work Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively on project teams to evaluate our clients' current operations, and recommend operational, policy and operations changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
  • Conduct interviews of client staff and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze client datasets and build models to develop solutions and alternatives.
  • Build a case for improvement using data, benchmarking analysis, and stakeholder input.
  • Conduct comparative and industry research.
  • Develop interim reports of findings and analysis, final reports, and presentations.
  • Assist with developing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for client projects.
  • Maintain a focus on delivering high quality, timely and insightful analysis and deliverables to each client.

Requirements:

  • Two to four years of experience working within the local government sector required for consideration at Senior Consultant level. Strong preference for experience in Public Works, Human Resources, Finance or Administrative Services.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel abilities.
  • Strong writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
  • Professional designation/certifications in your field of expertise is preferred.
  • The position is remote but some travel to client sites is required.
