Overview:

The Sr. Manager will utilize business data, strategic insights (both consumer and industry), and marketing expertise to identify growth opportunities and build go-to-market strategic plans that deliver value for Gerber Life. In this role you will be responsible for uncovering consumer insights (via research), as well as industry and competitive insights, to identify areas of opportunity and formulate growth strategies for the organization, for new product development and other growth strategies.

The Sr. Manager will be the SME for industry knowledge & trends, our competition, and will keep a pulse on consumer needs, priorities, and expectations. You will direct consumer research projects to gain relevant insights and should possess intellectual curiosity with an action-oriented mindset to deliver business results (not just activities).

Responsibilities:
  • Enjoys deriving useful consumer insights from research and data analysis to inform new hypotheses and differentiated marketing strategies.
  • Brings an analytical approach to decision making when formulating strategies and evaluating trade-offs and possesses qualitative as well as quantitative acumen.
  • Manages consumer research projects to gain insights into consumer behavior, priorities and unmet needs to help develop strategic marketing plans and will be a core team member in new product development, infusing consumer insights.
  • Manages customer satisfaction programs, including design and implementation, and provides ongoing direction for program, utilizing insights to inform strategies.
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and presents industry data, and works with the Data Science team to understand industry trends, products, competitors & pricing.
  • Provides support to Sr. Management and Marketing Department and Contact Center sales on ad-hoc research projects.
  • Provides research and project management to support business development.
  • Manages relationships with external research partners, (3rd party research companies, LIMRA, Competitive tools, SimilarWeb, Google Trends, etc.) including developing new relationships and/or sources of information.
  • Undertakes proactive and self-directed independent desk research examining competitors experiences, products, premiums relative to GLIC product set/experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Possesses intellectual curiosity, continually looking to learn new things
Qualifications:
  • Typically requires 5- 7 years of experience.
  • Three-plus years of project management experience.
  • We would like to emphasize the importance of having a background in conducting and analyzing original research. This position will be heavily research focused, so having demonstrated experience in research design, collecting and analyzing data, and drawing logical conclusions from the data is something we believe needs to be emphasized.
  • Experience in Life Insurance needed

Work Setting:

  • This position works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Position requires substantial movement of wrist, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work. .

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree. Masters degree a plus

The salary ranges posted reflect our targeted base pay hiring range for the position. The final determination on base pay for any position will be determined based on multiple factors to ensure pay equity within the organization. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives whereby total compensation may exceed base salary depending on individual performance.

Note: Posted Hiring Salary Range: $120,500-$150,600
