- Managing the loan bidding and loan acquisition processes
- Efficient loan document review using machine learning and optical character recognition
- Vetting of loans for any issues with lending laws, taxes, or underlying collateral value
- Payment collection, surveillance, and loss mitigation once the loan is purchased
- Securitization of loans into bonds and marketing these assets to institutional investors
FKM is seeking a Consumer Products Specialist who will focus on all consumer asset acquisitions. The role will assist in generating and pitching new investment opportunities, performing diligence, deal execution and ongoing portfolio management.
Job Description and Responsibilities
- Research and present new asset class investment opportunities and thesis.
- Leverage prior experience and in-house resources to review new ABS classes.
- Assist in the sourcing of new collateral.
- Assist in performing quantitative and qualitive due diligence on new investment opportunities.
- Underwrite new consumer, auto, solar and other ABS acquisition opportunities.
- Collaborate with team members in all aspects of executing loan acquisition opportunities, lending facility execution, securitization execution, CUSIPed trades and portfolio oversite/performance.
- Perform research and analysis on the ABS market and ABS asset performance.
- Create insightful analysis and presentations to be used in making investment decisions.
- Monitor current portfolio of investments collaborating with technology, servicing oversite and compliance teams.
Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in ABS. Prefer banking/trading experience at a broker/dealer, with experience in lending, asset purchasing or securitization, or capital markets experience at a specialty finance/consumer loan originator
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact successfully with diverse levels of management, operational staff, counterparties, and outside vendors
- Ability to demonstrate high quality decision making with keen problem-solving ability in a timely manner
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and satisfy deadlines
- High level of commitment, strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
Compensation
The base salary for this position is expected to be between $150,000 and $200,000 annually. The base salary offered to the chosen candidate will be commensurate with a candidate's relevant experience and other qualifications for the position, as determined by FKM in its sole discretion. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and a robust benefits package.
