As part of its mission to create innovative solutions, Samsung is looking for a Content Counsel to join its NorthAmerica Service Business team.Role and ResponsibilitiesThe North America Service Business (NASB) team is responsible for developing and delivering best-in-class digital experiences to consumers, operating a distribution platform that connects the TV and mobile ecosystems, and providing unique solutions to advertising clients through its proprietary Samsung Ads platform. The North America Service Business organization is a fully integrated business unit, with product, engineering, ad sales, marketing, partnerships, and supporting functions working together seamlessly to drive the success of the business.As a Content Counsel, your responsibilities will include: Drafting and negotiating agreements, including app distribution agreements across CTV and mobile, and a wide variety of other commercial agreements.Helping build effective, business-oriented legal processes that are designed to support scalable growth.Supporting a wide variety of global product development/launches.Coordinating with local and global cross-functional stakeholders across Samsung HQ and regional affiliates on policy and standard frameworks. Skills and Qualifications Responsibilities:Provide front-line counsel to executives, senior leadership, and the broader organization on various legal and business issues related to products, services, and partnerships.Review, draft, negotiate and execute a variety of agreements, with particular focus on app distribution across CTV and mobile.Manage a broad range of product counseling matters for software, hardware, and services.Work collaboratively across the organization to proactively provide legal guidance and manage legal risks while advancing business goals.Handle communication and coordination with cross-functional stakeholders across Samsung HQ and US affiliates on consumer T&C's, global policy, and operations.Handle any investigation and tracking of incidents and breaches.Manage outside counsel relationships, as needed. Requirements:Bachelor's degree and a Juris Doctorate degree from a U.S. accredited law school.Minimum 5 years of experience with a law firm or combination of law firm and in-house experience.Licensed to practice law in the State of New York.Understanding of digital media and OTT.Comfortable with an ever-changing landscape and ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.Excellent business and legal judgment, as well as a superior ability to assess risk and determine priorities based on that risk assessment and the needs of the business.Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete them on time.Experience with domestic and global content licensing, linear and on-demand rights/distribution, ad tech, and related regulatory matters; up to date on the various licensing structures and processes that are customary in the media industry.Strong negotiation and communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to communicate legal issues in a clear and understandable manner. Inspires trust and confidence through effective communication and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to quickly understand complex products and services, while identifying key issues and risks and offering creative solutions for business enablement. For candidates based in New York, the salary range for this role is expected to be between $200,000 and $215,000.
