Title: Content Writer Intern
Commitment: Part Time, Unpaid (college credit)
Location: Remote
About univie:Univie is an early-stage non-profit that aims to empower refugees to take ownership of their health data. Our solution gives refugees access to and allows them to carry their personal digital health records wherever they go, so that it can be shared with medical professionals when necessary. We are a small team working across 3 continents.
About Our Challenge:20 Million refugees had to leave their country, are still on their journey or staying in temporary locations. Along their long and often dangerous journeys, refugees are particularly in need of medical care. A lack of medical records, little knowledge about local healthcare, and language barriers make it difficult for these vulnerable populations to quickly receive the care they need.
About the Role:You will be working directly with the senior members of the team across various countries to source and write stories to help raise awareness of univie and refugee health challenges. We're looking for someone who has strong research and written skills and is able to source their stories independently.
Here's what you'll be working on:- Write stories for univie's blog designed to to profile refugees, medical professionals, and complex health issues
- Closely follow global, health, and social causes and trends, and pitch relevant stories
- Report and write interviews and features
What makes you qualified?- Excellent research skills
- Voracious appetite for current events
- A strong voice and passion to lead an impactful life
- Positive compassionate attitude
- Deadline oriented
- Undergraduate degree (a major in journalism or communications is not required)
Please note this is an unpaid internship. College credit is offered. Please submit a writing sample along with your application.
