The Continuous Improvement Principal analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements.
Responsibilities
* Research best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data
* Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost
* Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes
* May specialize in one or more of the following areas: benchmarking, business process analysis and reengineering, change management and measurement, and/or process-driven systems requirements
* Studies organizational processes and operations and develops quality and efficiency improvements
* Evaluates internal processes and identifies opportunities for improvements
* Gathers data for key performance indicators for functions being reviewed, evaluates current state and processes future state goals and objectives
* Measures results of implemented improvement strategies and modifies continuous improvement programs in response
* Assists in the development and delivery of continuous improvement related training programs
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Associates Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations or related field
* Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/ or Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations or related field
* Lean, Six Sigma or related certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Problem management
* Project management skills
* Strong computer skills including MS Office
* Strong written, digital and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment
* Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety
* Requires regular movement throughout the GD-OTS facility
* Scranton Army Ammunition Plant is a government contracted facility; all potential employees must be able to pass Federal background requirements*
