Job Summary: The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for the support of manufacturing operations in the development, planning and execution of Lean strategies and metrics. This position will require an experienced Lean leader with manufacturing industry background and is able to facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and ever changing environment. Th key to success in this position is the ability to identify and drive operational improvements at all levels utilizing a very hands on approach to creating value and buy-in as the lead change facilitator for the plant's Lean transformation. Job Duties:
- Develop a Lean manufacturing strategy for all manufacturing assets to ensure the facility's objectives are met in the areas of safety, quality, profitability, waste reduction, OEE and team excellence.
- Facilitate the selection, scope, and planning of specific improvement projects with a primary focus on business performance improvements that yield zero accidents, defect free products capable of passing field testing, on demand and on time delivery, at the lowest cost.
- Manage and take a lead role in promoting and improving quality processes, expectations and results.
- Facilitate Kaizen events in support of the business plan.
- Conduct 30, 60, and 90-day post Kaizen event reviews to ensure sustainability of event results.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Develop training materials and effectively deliver those materials in a team environment to ensure employees throughout the facility are trained in CI concepts and philosophy
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt Certification is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years leading Kaizen events, teaching TPS, and the 8 Tools of Lean in a continuous improvement role
- Minimum of 4 years of experience related to continuous improvement or similar project management
- Minimum of 5 years working in a manufacturing environment
- Engineering Experience - prefer Industrial, Chemical, Materials Engineer
- Experience with change management
- Must have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skills
- Must possess good problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Must be dedicated to continuous improvement
