Job Title: Continuous Improvement EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Continuous Improvement Engineer to reduce costs, increase productivity, reduce scrap/re-work, and provide resources for training and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will support shop floor and indirect areas by providing proper documentation, tools, and training, while leading continuous improvement activities in manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities- Lead continuous improvement activities in manufacturing processes.
- Develop methods, standards, line balances, and line layouts.
- Support new product introductions.
- Analyze, develop, layout, procure, and install equipment and tools for implementing products.
- Determine costs and manufacturability of changes and specials.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and QA to start up, debug, and verify processes.
- Utilize continuous improvement tools such as APQP to lead teams.
- Conduct research and development of new manufacturing processes and tooling.
Essential Skills- BS in Engineering preferred, Associates in a Technical Field required.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical/electronic components.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software.
- Understanding of quality assurance fundamentals.
- Preferred knowledge of systems such as AS400, NOMS, CORE, and EDM.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Strong project management skills.
- Experience with automation and time studies.
- Proficiency in manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement.
Work EnvironmentThis position involves working in a manufacturing facility that produces forklifts and distributes them globally. The facility operates on a continuous and custom project-based manufacturing schedule. Candidates will work a Monday to Thursday workweek at least 50% of the time, with occasional work on Fridays and remote work as needed. The facility environment is typical for manufacturing, being cold in the winter and hot in the summer. This is a second shift position with hours from 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM (flexible to 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM). Enjoy a great work-life balance with a schedule of four 10-hour shifts a week, occasional overtime, and a very clean facility. The role offers 10 days of PTO and 6 standard paid holidays.
