Job Type Full-timeDescriptionThe Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for driving organizational excellence by ensuring strict adherence to company policies, procedures and performance expectations. This role involves managing and coaching staff to enhance their performance, provide guidance and foster a culture of continuous improvement. By leading by example and demonstrating a commitment to high standards, the manager will support staff in achieving compliance and operational efficiency. • Develop Continuous Improvement Leaders:• Using the Jishuken process as a training structure, develop internal TPS leaders so that leaders can conduct improvement activities on their own.• Support each plant in their improvement efforts using PDCA methodology.• Assist with Shopfloor requests for additional resources, direction or problem solving.• Support Yokogushi Teams:• Support the required North American Yokogushi teams. Act as team leader when required:• Attend meetings (virtually and onsite)• Participate in yearly Hoshin Planning & activity execution.• Provide assistance to teams to ensure Hoshin activities are completed as planned.• Coordinate with Futaba Japan & other global Futaba groups for benchmarking, improvement-sharing, problem solving.• New Program and End-of-Production Support:• Assist each plant in Start-of-Production and End-of-Production planning.• Ensure appropriate plans & resources for each aspect of build-out & launch.• Provide input & direction for new programs and new processes• Off-Line Training• Conduct Standardized Off-Line Monozukuri Training to TMs & TLs (later including SV & higher)• Manage/track training that is completed• Develop, test & track training materials as needed• Manage Training Schedule• Reporting• Establish & track KPI for performance evaluation• Continually evaluate opportunities for kaizen/improvement• Provide status updates and reports for internal & external use• Develop and deliver training materials for production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices. Maintain accurate documentation of training and lessons learned. • Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations to ensure safe working environment for yourself and your team members. Identify and address potential safety hazards proactively with alignment with our Safety Department. • Monitor schedules, activities, and follow through from all stakeholders with an emphasis on shop floor conditions daily and provide direction to all project stakeholders as needed to maintain project momentum. • Develop and maintain a working management board with all necessary KPI, Action Plans and Progress, etc. updated and available for reporting on a routine basis. • Manage employee relations in coordination with related department management, and human resources.• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Requirements• Bachelor's degree in business or a related Technical Field (SPC and/or SSBB Certified, a plus).• Prior experience in related fields or positions• Demonstrates a complete understanding of component, finished goods & Futaba processes• Capable of travel (United States and International) • Demonstrates strong time management & prioritization skills• Demonstrates strong leadership qualities i.e., leading by example, interpersonal skills, teamwork, mentoring etc.• Strong skills in Floor Management Development System (FMDS)• Strong skills in change point management.• Strong communication skills including written and verbal.• Sound judgment in decision making and establishing priorities.• Proactive and oriented to make improvements in systems and procedures.• Self-motivated, able to complete tasks in allotted time.• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packageSupervisory Responsibilities• No; however, requires the ability to influence and lead horizontally. • Must also be able to work flexible hours for both days and nights. Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions of this position. • Work Environment: Work is typically performed in both an office and production environment• Must be able to use a variety of tools and equipment such as computer terminal for data input, copy machines, calculator and any other equipment related to functional area.• Must be able to use software includes the use of Windows Operating System, MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access database, etc.), and Internet• Noise Levels: Moderate NoiseEssential Physical Tasks The physical tasks described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.• Lifting up to 10 pounds - must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.• Physical Sight - Able to read and analyze data in hard copy and on a computer screen.• Verbal & Written Communications - Able to efficiently present complex matters to audience with little technical knowledge and to executive management.• Telephone Communications - Able to communicate verbally using a telephone.• Multitasking - Able to manage multiple work projects simultaneously.
