POSITION PURPOSE
* Supports and serves as back up to CI Manager and serves as the link between direct reports and middle/upper management.
* Directs and coordinates the day-to-day activities of QC Inspectors, Pre-Press and Janitorial employees to resolve quality problems and continuously improve the level of quality, by providing leadership and supervision to direct reports.
* Administers quality standards for paperboard products, and related raw materials, during printing, cutting, folding, gluing and packaging processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
* Provides technical training and support to management and employees.
JOB FUNCTIONS
* Performs audits and monitors quality checks in all departments to ensure defects, mixes, and product contamination do not occur
* Train operators on how to identify and prevent product defects
* Train operators on quality checks and testing SOP's
* Works with operators to troubleshoot defects and determine correct course of action
* Assists with daily testing for customer products, as required
* Determines and manages substandard product and raw materials (paperboard) determining what can/should be sold, sorted/reworked or scrapped (Quality Hold SAP)
* Manages Vendor (Raw Material) Complaints in SAP
* Manages Internal Complaints in SAP
* Manages quality incident investigation process to ascertain root cause(s) - for use in recommending preventive measures and improving quality
* Participates in new business meeting trials through implementation.
* Oversees all sort activities (establish sort standards, mentor and monitor employees (including temporary workers), SAP entries, and housekeeping)
* Performs customer and internal sampling requirements
* Participate in internal and external customer visits
* Manages Color standard and 1st run color materials process.
* Manages quality lab (testing, calibrations, trouble shooting, housekeeping, and training)
* Develops and maintains documents and SOPs
* COA's, EOM reporting, and Color Management
* Gathers data as requested for projects/troubleshooting, etc.
* Observes direct reports to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
* Verifies completeness and accuracy of direct reports' work, computations, and records.
* Participates in work of direct reports to facilitate productivity or overcome difficult aspects of work.
* Instructs direct reports in job duties or arranges for training to be provided.
* Initiates and conducts personnel actions such as discipline, performance evaluations, and payroll.
* Evaluates job performance of direct reports and recommends appropriate personnel action.
* Administer, communicate and interpret work procedures and company policies to direct reports.
* Provides direct reports with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems, works with employee's to resolve concerns, or submits unsettled disputes to management.

This role is incentive plan eligible. Additional information will be shared during the hiring process. Each candidate's compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, past experience, job duties, geography, and business need, among other things.
Pay Range: $59,850.00 - $79,830.00
