Job Description:

OverviewServes as the liaison between Supply Chain and General Counsel for expense-related contracts for supplies, equipment and purchased services. Provides preliminary review for the sourcing / contracting team of any vendor contracts or changes to Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H) contract templates and participates in negotiations to achieve agreement between parties that are within the parameters established by General Counsel. Contract activity may be non-routine and require development of specialized contract vehicles and techniques to accomplish business goals and objectives. Educates Supply Chain staff in understanding contract terms and conditions; statutory and regulatory issues affecting D-H, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health (D-HH), New England Alliance for Health (NEAH), and New England Pharmacy Collaborative (NEPC) contracts, policies and procedures.ResponsibilitiesAnalysis and ReportingObtains and analyzes comparative, competitive, and market data to ensure contract pricing is within fair market value guidelines and is appropriate and advantageous to DHReviews complex solicitations and prepares specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals, bids, and contract modificationsAnalyzes significant, and/or unique, contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and business unit procedure and communicates results to necessary partiesContract Negotiation and SupportDevelops negotiation strategy and participates with negotiation team on complex contractual issuesAnalyzes new laws, regulations, and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectivesProvides authoritative guidance to internal business teams and contract subordinates on corporate goals and objectives relating to contract activityActs as the focal point for all communication with legal, finance, and business team disciplines for resolution of contract issues and disputesWorks proactively with leadership to develop mechanisms by which improvements in contract review process can be implemented and measured.Contract Administration (pre and post)Assists in identification, development, and implementation of new contract policy and processesSupports contract administration services through effective communications, education, post-award analysis, and improvementCoordinates with external experts to establish market rates for commercial and physician contractsDevelops and maintains positive, professional relationships with staff and management at all levels, including maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor at all timesContributes to the success of the organization by meeting organizational competency expectations and core values (respect, integrity, stewardship, excellence, collaboration, and kindness), continuously learning, and by performing other duties as needed or assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree and five years of experience developing, implementing, operating, or maintaining analytics for contract processes and/or business support requiredMaster's degree in Business Administration (MBA), law degree (JD), or Healthcare Administration (MHA) plus 2 years of experience preferredNegotiations skills requiredContract Management certification preferredKnowledge and understanding of the business case and an appreciation of financial/analytical issues and profit and loss implicationsBroad knowledge of the healthcare industry, healthcare policy, and regulation, finance, compliance, and legal requirementsSkill in interpersonal communications to interact appropriately with various levels of management within DHStrong organizational skillsTeam oriented with consulting and advisory skills and service orientationStrong to excellent analytical skillsGood presentation, leadership, and management skillsExcellent internal and external negotiation skillsEmerging ability to excel in upper level management environmentSignificant ability to influence senior corporate managementAbility to effect and manage change agentsAbility to perform in complex cross-functional business environmentAbility to oversee and train less experienced contract professionals and to identify and develop contract skills in assigned functionAbility to draft moderate to complex, non-routine contractual instrumentsAbility to analyze complex information, formulate strategies, communicate solutions and plans to others, and monitor progressRequired Licensure/CertificationsNoneRemote:Fully Remote;Area of Interest:Professional/Management;FTE/Hours per pay period:1.00 - 1.00 - 40 hrs/week;Shift:Day;Job ID:26608;Dartmouth Health is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
