The Contract Specialist plays a vital role within our Payor Strategy Team. The successful candidate will report to the Director, Payor Strategy. They are responsible for supporting department leadership in managing the contract portfolio for Aspen Dental. Essential Functions
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with insurance company and managed care company personnel responsible for contracting with healthcare providers.
  • Manage the implementation, execution, and communication of contracts throughout organization, including communication and fielding requests from Aspen Providers.
  • Act as an expert resource on escalated contractual issues in addition to resolution of high-level compliance and customer-related concerns.
  • Monitor contract performance and other provisions to assure compliance, identify problem areas, and resolve disputes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years' experience related to healthcare contracting. Direct exposure to contracting in prior experience strongly preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of healthcare insurance, physician billing and reimbursement, administration, systems, practices and principles, (i.e. Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Commercial.)
  • Excellent verbal & written communications
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills a must.
  • Detail oriented with a strong level of analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
