The Contract Specialist is responsible for reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts to ensure the companys interests are protected in legal agreements. This role involves close collaboration with legal, procurement, finance, and other departments to ensure that all contracts related to warehousing, storage, and logistics are compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent contract negotiation skills, and the ability to interpret complex legal language while ensuring clarity and risk mitigation in agreements. This position plays a key role in supporting the companys operational and strategic goals by ensuring that all contracts are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Review & Drafting: Review, draft, and modify various contracts (e.g., warehousing, vendor, service agreements) ensuring compliance with legal standards and company goals.
- Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with internal teams to negotiate terms, resolve disputes, and address contract-related issues with external partners.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure contracts meet all legal requirements, mitigate risks, and monitor compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Contract Administration: Maintain contract database, track key dates and obligations, and assist with renewals and amendments.
- Legal Support & Collaboration: Work with legal counsel to ensure contracts are legally sound and assist in resolving disputes to avoid litigation.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, prepare status reports, and assist with internal audits.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as liaison between internal teams and external parties, providing guidance and training on contract management.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Law, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Paralegal certification or law degree preferred but not required.
- 3+ years of experience in contract management, contract negotiation, or a legal/contract role.
- Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, procurement, or supply chain management is a plus.
- Strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology.
- Proven experience with contract review, drafting, and negotiation.
- High attention to detail and ability to work with complex legal documents.
