Contract Tutor QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must comply with all employment criteria legally established by the Lee County Board of Education. 2. Must hold an appropriate Alabama Professional Educator Certificate. 3. Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the assigned task. 4. Must meet the suitability criteria for employment as required by the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457. 5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Background Check Required: (HB 402 ACT 99-361 Alabama Legislature) Upon offer of employment, employees will be required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the federal Bureau of Investigation. REPORTS TO: Principal, The Rock Academy JOB GOALS: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible men and women. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Applicable to All Employees: •Attend on a regular and predictable basis. •Complete assigned tasks in a safe manner and in a constant state of alertness. •Uphold Board policies, including the anti-harassment program. •Work in a cooperative manner with students, teachers, staff, supervisors, and the public. •Work effectively and efficiently under time and productivity standards. Essential Job Functions: 1. Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations at the times designated. 2. Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided and appropriate to the interests and maturity of the students. 3. Establish and maintain appropriate discipline in the classroom and assist staff in establishment and maintenance of discipline in the school environment. 4. Prepare for classes assigned, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of the principal at the local school. 5. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, board policy, and administrative regulation. 6. Evaluate student progress on a regular basis and in accordance with the system's established procedures. 7. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students and to safeguard all equipment, materials, and facilities. 8. Work with other staff members in planning school activities, instructional goals, objectives, and methods. 9. Maintain a professional, cooperative working relationship with parents and community. 10. Promote good public relations for school and school system with the general public. 11. Maintain and improve professional competence. Function in a workplace that is usually moderately quiet but that can be noisy at times. EMPLOYMENT: This is an hourly contract position. The salary is $35.00 dollars per hour and will not exceed 18.0 hours per week. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Professional Personnel.
