Job Description:
Position Description Purpose The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing the development, negotiation, and administration of contracts between company and customers/vendors throughout their lifecycle. This role ensures that all contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet the organization's policies and standards. The Contracts Manager works closely with various departments to facilitate contract negotiations, manage risks, and ensure effective and efficient contract performance. The Contracts Manager provides support for the Legal, Credit and Risk departments and is responsible for all contract administration processes, which include but not limited to research and document preparation, review and revision, negotiation, tracking, job setup, compliance tracking, record retention and ad hoc projects and requests. The position is responsible for maintaining communication, both verbal and written on a timely basis. Focus & Scope Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below: Company / Entity
  • Lead the contract review and negotiations process with clients, and other stakeholders to establish favorable contract terms and conditions that align with company objectives while mitigating risks.
  • Review, draft, and revise contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, construction contracts, purchase orders, change orders, warranty claims, vendor and subcontractor agreements, and to ensure accuracy, compliance, and legal integrity.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to industry standards, legal regulations, and company policies.
  • Support the management of contractual risks, including liabilities, indemnities, and warranty, to protect the interests of the company.
  • Maintain an organized system for contract documentation, tracking key milestones, deadlines, and deliverables, and provide timely follow-up and updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the cultivation of strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners to foster timely contract execution and dispute resolution.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in contract management practices, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Oversees and is responsible for technology enhancements to create efficiencies and productivity for all areas under the jurisdiction of the Contracts Manager.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including estimating, sales/business development, legal, finance, and operations, to coordinate contract activities and achieve strategic business objectives.
  • Support Estimating and Procurement team members' negotiations with subcontractors/suppliers to establish favorable terms and conditions as needed.
  • Technical / Specialty Area
  • Prepare regular reports and analyses on contract performance, including financial metrics, compliance status, and risk assessment, to inform decision-making and support business planning.
  • Oversee administrator staff or others needed to support administrative tasks including but not limited to contract lifecycle management, template management, task progress tracking, e-signature management, dates and expirations,
  • Develops and oversees contract management strategies for the organization. Specifically organizes and leads cross-functional team(s) to implement, monitor and manage contract strategies and initiatives. Provide subject matter expertise while working with business units and senior management in negotiation of customer and vendor contracts.
  • Prepares timely reports related to the status of contract management as required by operation and management.
  • Assists operations and FAST as required with contract/subcontract negotiations
  • Prepares and coordinates legal documents related to contract activates including but not limited to assignments, escrow agreements, estoppels, certifications and financing supporting documents.
  • Prepares annual and departmental budget and prepares quarterly reviews and projections. Approve department expenditures against the approved budget.
  • Builds and sustains effective business partnerships with internal clients. Maintains a customer focus through communication and understanding the line of business needs. Improves end user understanding and commitment to corporate credit policies and industry best practices. Works with subject matter specialists to gather and assess business requirements. Monitors and maximizes customer satisfaction using standardized reporting metrics.
  • Assumes responsibility for productivity of staff. Maximizes employee performance and professional growth. Specifically, provides vision and direction to function as a cohesive unit; oversees regularly planned meetings; develops staff by evaluating performance, providing coaching, training, and mentoring opportunities.
  • Visibly supports Teichert's Injury Prevention and Safety program, the implementation/interpretation of safety programs, and active participation in safety meetings and training sessions. Proactively identifies and communicates safety improvements and hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions to maintain a safe and healthy work environment and meet corporate safety standards.

    Role Qualifications & Requirements Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Finance, Law or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience
    Experience& Industry Expertise:
    • Minimum of 7-10 years' experience negotiating large construction or procurement contracts in an organization with more than $500m in annual sales.
    • Experience supervising others
    Specific Job Requirements:
    • Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Current on all company required safety and regulatory training
    • Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and avoid conflicts-of-interest
    • Thorough knowledge of construction laws, including Mechanic's liens, construction defects and indemnification
    • Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end construction procurement process
    • Excellent understanding of the construction and materials industries, particularly in infrastructure/heavy construction and construction material sales
    • Excellent negotiation skills including the ability to achieve positive outcomes while working with all different type of customers
    • Ability to build and lead cross-functional teams
    • Strong ability using rigorous logic and sound reasoning to solve difficult problems
    • Ability to plan and manage projects within area of responsibility

    Notices BASE SALARY RANGE: $126,667.00 - $177,333.00 The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonably expects to pay for the position.
