JOB TITLE: Contractual EEO Representative - Human Resources
REPORTS TO: Director, Employment Dispute Resolution
DEFINITION: Processes employee accommodations requests in compliance with applicable policy and law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA ), the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act ( PWFA ), and Title VII. Conducts research and performs complex technical and administrative services to support the EEO Office and its investigations team. Performs other related duties as assigned.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Comprehensive processing of employee and applicant accommodations matters, including facilitation of the interactive process, in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, law, and regulations including the ADA, PWFA and Title VII, in order to draft clear, concise and compliant decision letters for review by the EEO Officer or designee.
Ensures timely and accurate entry of data into the case management system. Monitors status of cases, follows-up with appropriate offices, and provides updates to office leadership.
Assists EEO Officer and Specialists with intake, follow-up, and editing of reports for EEO Office investigations.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
Required graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor's degree. Experience working with ADA or EEO related matters.
Experience performing paralegal duties is strongly preferred. Coursework, training, or experience in the education field is preferred.
Note: Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience that provide the knowledge and skills necessary to perform effectively in the class may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Exceptional filing and organizational skills, including set up and maintenance of electronic case database and paper filing systems.
Demonstrated ability to work independently on time-sensitive matters with a high volume workload.
Knowledge of employment discrimination and education laws.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills. Must be client focused and detail oriented.
Flexibility to work in a fluid environment with guidelines but significant variation.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The work of this class is generally sedentary and performed in an office environment.
SALARY: $32.62 per hour (contractual)

* All persons employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (State of Maryland, Senate Bill 315, effective October 1, 1986) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $109.00. An identification card will be issued which must be shown prior to employment.
* Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US.
