Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Safe and Efficient Plant Operation:

    • Ensure safe, reliable, and environmentally sound operation of plant equipment.
    • Properly operate control room, combustion turbines, and auxiliary equipment during normal and emergency situations.
  • Effective Communication:

    • Clearly communicate information both orally and in writing.
  • Troubleshooting and Data Handling:

    • Troubleshoot plant equipment to resolve operational issues.
    • Use various computer systems to receive, analyze, and input data.
    • Monitor and record data using instruments, charts, and monitoring devices.
  • Emergency Preparedness:

    • Implement plant emergency procedures as needed.
  • Technical Skills and Decision-Making:

    • Interpret meter and gauge readings, adapting to variations in operating conditions.
    • Apply knowledge of gas power plant operations and basic principles to daily tasks.
    • Operate computers, printers, and control panels.
  • Responsibility and Physical Requirements:

    • Work independently without supervision.
    • Take, record, and analyze readings from electrical and mechanical meters.
    • Train other operators.
    • Ensure shift operations and maintenance tasks are performed.
    • Understand the impact of switches and valves on overall plant operation.
    • Meet physical demands (standing, walking, climbing, squatting).
  • Flexible Schedule:

    • Ability to do rotating shifts and response calls 24/7

Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Three or more years of experience operating Aeroderivative combustion turbines.
    • Familiarity with Siemens T3000 and Ovation control systems.
  • Educational Background:

    • Engineering background through college or military training.
  • Skills and Traits:

    • Excellent technical and organizational skills.
    • Demonstrated leadership potential.
    • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
    • Proven ability to work effectively in a team without close supervision.
  • Computer Literacy:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Confidentiality and Collaboration:

    • Ability to use discretion with sensitive company information.
    • Effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
